Counselling for Children & Young People

I offer counselling, coaching and mentoring for children and young people aged 13 to 17 years online.

How can counselling and coaching help?

Some of the common issues that teeenagers grapple with are:

self image,

family and peer relationships,

academic pressure,

home or school expectations of compliance,

low mood,

excessive anxiety,

feeling powerless and unheard...

A counsellor / coach / mentor can help you explore the sources of your difficulties and identify tools and strategies that could help.

Sometimes it can be helpful to include parents/carers in sessions either separately or together with the young person or both. This is always in consultation with and agreement of the young person.

For counselling to have a positive effect, the decision to engage in counselling must lie with the young person.

Supporting young people

Some young people find it easier to talk with the help of tools and prompts so I utilise these whenever it is appropriate.

I draw on my empathy, my training, my professional experience in the UK and around the world and my personal experience as a child, a young person, a parent and grandparent to help me connect with the young person I am working with regardless of culture, religion, gender, sexuality, or any label either self assigned or assigned by others.
